COMPANY HISTORY

In 1991, Habib Mamou purchased Royal Oak Waste Paper & Metal Co. near downtown Royal Oak – south of Lincoln (10 1/2 Mile). He brought his team, customer experience and investment to the southern downtown area of Royal Oak. As the business and customer base grew for the recycling business, so did the investment in the neighboring area.

By 2001, over 15 acres of land were assembled and Royal Oak Storage was built out of the demand of a growing downtown district. In 2002, in response to the Royal Oak Recycling (previously named Royal Oak Waste Paper & Metal Co.) diverse customer base, already utilizing secure shredding, Royal Oak Storage added records management services.

In 2004, Ed Mamou, Vice President of Royal Oak Recycling added value to the Royal Oak Storage team by implementing online web module records database access via DHS Worldwide Total Recall software, warehousing services and local/one-way Penske truck rental.

Royal Oak Storage continues to grow, keeping abreast of the latest technologies, associations and partnerships. We continue to grow with our local commitment to our customer base. Today, our current warehouse space exceeds 120,000 sf.

To maintain a hands-on, professional approach and philosophy in daily work while providing customized, optimal solutions related to records management, secure shredding and self storage.

Royal Oak Storage’s primary focus is Southeast Michigan (headquarters in Royal Oak, MI – Metro Detroit) with additional resources in West Michigan, Cleveland, OH and Pittsburgh, PA.
